Formulas & equations

  • Speed = distance ÷ time
  • Acceleration = change in velocity ÷ time = (v − u) ÷ t
  • v = u + at
  • s = ut + ½at²

Key facts & rules

  • Distance-time graph: gradient = speed. Horizontal line = stationary. Curved = acceleration.
