- Prokaryotic cells (bacteria): no nucleus, no membrane-bound organelles, smaller, circular DNA.
- Eukaryotic cells: have a membrane-bound nucleus (animals, plants, fungi).
- Mitochondria: site of aerobic respiration (ATP production).
- Ribosomes: site of protein synthesis.
- Chloroplasts: contain chlorophyll, site of photosynthesis.
- Mitosis produces 2 genetically identical diploid daughter cells (growth, repair, asexual reproduction).
